Double death crash: man in court

A 25-year-old man has appeared before a court in connection with a crash which claimed the lives of a man and his seven-year-old son.

The crash happened on the A228, Malmaynes Hall Road, Stoke, near Rochester, on Saturday, December 10.

Alan Oliver, of Pontefract, West Yorkshire, appeared at Dartford Magistrates' Court on Tuesday charged with two offences of disqualified driving and two offences of no insurance. He has been remanded in custody until Friday, December 23.

Kent Police say investigations into the fatal collision are continuing.

Neither the father who died in the crash, nor his young son, have yet been named by police but it is understood they lived on the Isle of Grain, near Rochester.
