Charlton’s unbeaten start to their League 1 campaign ended at Colchester on Tuesday night.

The Addicks went behind just before the half hour when Miguel Angel Llera (pictured) diverted Anthony Wordsworth’s cross past keeper Rob Elliot.

Colchester made it 2-0 just two minutes later when Kayode Odejayi picked up John-Joe O’Toole’s pass, shrugged off the challenge of Llera, then fired in low to double the advantage.

Charlton conceded a third on 57 minutes as Odejayi struck his second of the night.

Despite the defeat Charlton remain in second - three points behind table-toppers Leeds.
