Fire crews began cutting the woman out at 7.15am and
she was rushed to the nearby William Harvey Hospital just after
7.20am with serious head injuries.

The lorry driver is understood to be unhurt.

It is understood the lorry toppled over onto her maroon Ford car

Traffic is being diverted up the Hythe Road towards the town
centre.

Forensic officers remain at the scene and the junction is
expected to be closed for several hours while forensic tests are
carried out.

Highway officers and the Environment Agency will are also at the
scene as diesel is on the road and leaking into a drain.

Two hours earlier another lorry overturned on a stretch of the M20 near Maidstone.
