Arson attack causes £40,000 damage

POLICE are appealing for information following an arson attack that caused £40,000 worth of damage.

One of the residents in Broomwood Close, Bexley, Dartford, noticed a fire on land at the back of his house on Tuesday afternoon.

The blaze damaged fencing, a summer house and various trees and shrubs.

Police believe the fire was started deliberately between 12.45pm and 3.15pm. Nobody was hurt in the incident.

DS Barry Stanford, the officer investigating this incident said: "This fire could have been a lot more serious had it not been brought under control by the fire brigade.

"I would urge anyone who saw a person or persons acting suspiciously in the area behind Broomwood Close to contact the police."
