Arrest after policeman 'hit by car'

A YOUNG man has been arrested and charged in connection with an incident in which a police officer was allegedly struck by a car.

The 21-year-old Maidstone man has been charged with attempted wounding with intent to resist arrest, driving without insurance, driving while disqualified and aggravated vehicle taking.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Maidstone Magistrates' Court on Monday, September 25.

Two other young men have been charged in connection with the same alleged incident in Sandling Road, Maidstone, on Wednesday, August 23.

A 19-year-old Chatham man has been charged with taking a vehicle without consent. He has been bailed to appear before magistrates at Maidstone on Friday, September 8.

A 16-year-old boy, also from Chatham, is accused of taking a vehicle without consent. He has been bailed to appear at Maidstone Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, August 30.
