HUGE crowds flocked to the Hop Farm Country Park at Beltring at the weekend to enjoy a wide variety of engine-powered entertainment at the KM Motoring Pageant.

The event provided an ideal site for the annual event which attracted around 25,000 visitors over Saturday and Sunday.

With 1,000 classic cars on show and a host of commercial dealers displaying their new models, visitors had plenty to keep them entertained.

As well as the usual exhibits celebrating motoring and its history, there was also an Only Fools and Horses display, with one of the original three-wheeled yellow vans from the popular BBC series on show.

Families and children were treated to all manner of action-packed excitement from Europe's only ride-on monster truck, which is the world's largest Jeep standing at 13ft high, 13ft wide and 18ft long.

The huge vehicle provided two demonstrations and gave rides to the public. And the action continued with a demonstration of tanks crushing cars and a performance by JCB stunt team the Dancing Diggers, whose members who have not stages a show in Kent for three years.

Hop Farm spokeswoman Hollie Eastwood said: "It was a fantastic weekend, despite the weather being a bit gloomy. The attendance was brilliant and was a big improvement from last year when we only had 19,000.

"There were more attractions than ever and the entertainment went down really well. We mostly had families here but there were a fair few motoring enthusiasts too."
