European cash is there, town told

MONEY for youth schemes and training may be made available thanks to a meeting between Euro-MP Mark Watts and local chambers of commerce in Swanley.

The Monday evening meeting was aimed at encouraging the development of business opportunities and to provide a forum to bring forward new views and ideas.

Mr Watts explained that there was money available from Europe to help with training and development and local youth programmes. Applying for the grants was quite a long and complex process but it was hoped that the money would give future new schemes in the area a head start..

Swanley Mayor Frank Parker who chaired the meeting felt that it was a huge success with everyone feeling very positive about possible work that can be done in the future.
