Business Link offers internet trade sessions

THE benefits and possible pitfalls of Internet trading are to be examined in two special events in Ashford hosted by independent business advice organisation Business Link Kent.

The half-day workshops, on Tuesday November 23 at Eastwell Manor, Boughton Aluph, will look at how Kent businesses can not only boost sales by getting to the top of Internet search engine rankings but -- just as importantly -- also stay within the latest stringent e-commerce laws.

The morning session includes breakfast and a £50 credit to try out the "pay for clicks" method of maximising site visits. There will also be the opportunity to network with fellow delegates, plus a buffet lunch, for afternoon attendees.

The event is sponsored by Business Link Kent, reducing ticket prices to £15 for one session, or £25 for both, plus VAT.

They are open to Ashford businesses that have, or aspire to achieving, a significant presence on the Internet, and would also appeal to web designers and IT sector companies.

The e-Commerce day's morning session from 8.30am aims to teach attendees everything they need to know to ensure it is their website that prospective clients go to and not a competitor's.

The afternoon session, from 12.30pm, offers free legal advice to make participants aware of their legal responsibilities when selling through their website.

There will be real case studies of companies that have grown dramatically by boosting their search engine marketing to make sure Internet users found their website and used it to buy.
