GRAVESEND & Northflet are ready to offer Maidstone United a home at Stonebridge Road should talks with Dartford fail to reach agreement over the re-negotiation of their three-year lodging agreement.
Problems over ground insurance have forced the Fleet to invoke a clause in the agreement which gives them an option to re-negotiate. Awaiting developments are Maidstone, of the Go-Travel Kent League, who have intimated to the Gravesend board that they would be willing to become tenants.
Homeless Stones, presently lodging with Sittingbourne at Central Park, have also approached Dr Martens League, Premier Division Folkestone and Eastern Division neighbours Tonbridge regarding lodging arrangements.
Tenants Dartford presently pay their landlords £13,000 a year in four quarterly payments for the use of Stonebridge Road which is set to rise substantially because of the insurance problem. Maidstone are believed to have offered £22,000.
