Holders Ebbsfleet out of Kent Senior Cup

Holders Ebbsfleet United bowed out of the Kent Senior Cup quarter-finals with a 2-1 defeat at Whitstable Town on Wednesday.

With the tie coming just 24 hours after the Fleet's FA Trophy replay win over Wrexham, manager Liam Daish predictably fielded a much-changed line-up which included five PASE players, Steven Springett, Myron Turbine, Tom Parkinson, Sam Callender and Michael West.

Whitstable went in front through Jon Neal after 10 minutes but Matthew Judge equalised just before half-time with a fine strike.

Kezie Ibe then missed a great chance to put Ebbsfleet in front in the second half before Whitstable went in front with 20 minutes left after they were awarded a penalty. Sam Mott saved the first effort but the referee ordered a retake. Mott saved again but couldn't reach the rebound as it was bundled home by former Fleet midfielder Mark Munday.
