Histon 3 Ebbsfleet 2

EBBSFLEET United's Blue Square Premier play-off hopes were left hanging in the balance after they suffered a 3-2 defeat against Histon at the Glass World Stadium on Tuesday.

Histon opened the scoring on nine minutes when Danny Wright fired home Nathaniel Knight-Percival's cross.

Fleet levelled when John Akinde slotted home Luke Moore's cross before Stacy Long's 11th goal of the season put the visitors ahead on the stroke of half-time.

In the second half, Long felt he should have been awarded a penalty on 60 minutes when he was felled in the area, but referee Keith Yeo waved away the protests.

Histon pulled level on 75 minutes when Mat Mitchel-King headed home Gareth Gwillim's cross, then Neil Andrews fired in a low shot to secure the win just four minutes later.

Ebbsfleet are now 12 points behind fifth-placed Burton Albion with two games in hand.
