Farsley Celtic 1 Ebbsfleet United 1

EBBSLFEET shook off the frustration of a terrible coach journey to take a point from Saturday's trip to Farsley Celtic in the Blue Square Premier.

After kick-off was delayed by 25 minutes due to the Fleet's late arrival at the ground, the home side took the lead in controversial circumstances after just nine minutes.

The referee penalised Sasha Opinel an innocuous-looking challenge on Gareth Grant in the area and Stephen Downes made no mistake from the penalty spot.

But the Fleet levelled in spectacular fashion on 23 minutes when Stacy Long capped a fine solo run with a superb shot into the top corner of Tom Morgan's goal.

Mark DeBolla forced spectacular saves out of Morgan in the second half while Ebbsfleet had their own goalkeeper Lance Cronin to thank for preserving their point.

Ebbsfleet: Cronin, McPhee, Hawkins, McCarthy, Opinel, DeBolla, Bostwick, Long (Barrett 65), Moore (Coleman 87), Nade (Ricketts 56), Hastings
Subs Not Used: French, Starkey.
Attendance: 582.
