Stevenage v Ebbsfleet

Ebbsfleet boss Liam Daish says he would like to take Stevenage back to Stonebridge Road with everything to play for in the FA Trophy semi-final.

The first leg is at Broadhall Way on Saturday, with the return leg taking place at the Fleet seven days later.

Daish has called on his players to give themselves the best possible chance of returning to Wembley for the second year running.

“It is going to be tough,” he said. “Hopefully we can go there and give a good account of ourselves.

“It would be nice to take them back to Stonebridge Road with them knowing that they are in for a game. I’d like to think a draw would be a good result.”

Despite being the holders, Daish believes his side are the underdogs.

He added: “Stevenage are the favourites. They are near the top of the league and are the form team.

“They have got a big budget, a big squad and are an experienced side. But then so were Burton and Aldershot last year. We’re looking forward to the game.”

Midfielder John Martin will not be allowed to play in the semi-finals against his parent club Stevenage after a clause was inserted in the loan deal.

This will open up a chance for someone else, although Daish has not revealed the identity of Martin’s replacement.

It could be that winger Ricky Shakes is handed a starting place after being on the bench in the Fleet’s recent league games.
