Supermarket cash point raid

Thieves raided a Gravesend supermarket this morning stealing cash and bottles of vodka.

Police were called to Tesco in Whitehill Road, Gravesend, at 12.30am.

Firefighters alerted police after discovering thieves had accessed the building after the fire alarm sounded.

A police spokeswoman said cash had been taken from the till and bottles of vodka were also stolen.

Officers carried out an area search but the offenders were not found.
