Six vehicles involved in crash near Bluewater shopping centre

Delays have cleared on the A2 after an earlier pile-up involving six vehicles, which left at least four people injured.

Five cars and a lorry were involved in the accident on the London-bound carriageway of the A2 near Bluewater.

The crash happened just after 12.30pm, between the A2260 and the B225.

The London-bound carriageway was closed while emergency services including police, ambulances and fire crews attended, but has now reopened.

Firefighters used cutting equipment to free four people trapped in their cars, and ambulance crews treated several people at the scene.

None are thought to have been seriously injured, although several reported neck and back pain.
