Diners in a pub in Whitfield had their meals interrupted yesterday afternoon when a fire broke out in the kitchen.
Staff at the family friendly pub, Kittiwake in Menzies Road, had to evacuate customers at 3.45pm, while firefighters extinguished the small hob fire.
Two engines attended the scene, one from Deal and another from Dover.
Dover's breathing apparatus crew, made up of two firefighters, tackled the blaze in less than 15 minutes.
Watch manager Jamie Muddle said: "There was some damage behind the cooker controls."
