A motorcyclist has been killed in an accident on the A20 at Capel, between Dover and Folkestone.

It happened at 10pm on Sunday, August 8, as two bikers were riding towards Dover.

It is believed that one of the bikes collided with the central reservation and the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are trying to establish the cause of the accident and have appealed for any witnesses to contact them on 01622 690690.

Traffic was diverted via the B2011 Folkestone Road into Dover, but an hour later two cars crashed on that road and five people were injured. Fire crews from Dover and Folkestone attended and ambulances took the casualties to hospital. None of them was thought to have life-threatening injuries.
