Dover return to Crabble for the first time in more than a month on Saturday with boss Andy Hessenthaler looking to add another three points towards securing his side a Blue Square South play-off place.

Maidenhead are the visitors this weekend and, with just three points separating Braintree in second and Bath in seventh, Hessenthaler knows his side need to go on a good run to guarantee themselves a spot in the end-of-season promotion mix.

Tuesday’s match at Hampton & Richmond was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch and after last weekend’s 2-1 win at play-off rivals Braintree the Dover boss is hoping to string some results together.

Hessenthaler said: “It would have been nice to play that game on Tuesday because when you’ve had a decent performance and result you look forward to another match coming up.

“We’re fourth but we’ve got a game in hand over Chelmsford (in third)
and it’s so tight. We want to go on a run now to cement our place in the play-offs.

“In the last few years we haven’t really had anything to play for but this is quite exciting now and all of the players are excited. Our performances are good at the moment and we’re back on track.

“It’s nice that we’re back at home. We’ve just got to keep performing and be that team who goes on an unbeaten run.”
