Police close station booking hall at Dartford Railway Station as fighting breaks out

Five men were arrested at Dartford Railway Station last night after reports of fighting which left one man in hospital.

British Transport Police and colleagues from Kent Police were called to the station at 7.36pm.

Officers arrested four men on suspicion of robbery and one man on suspicion of actual bodily harm.

A BTP spokesman said the men were "helping officers with their inquiries".

One man was taken to hospital with injuries to his arm and face.

The booking hall at Dartford station was closed while officers dealt with the brawl, causing delays to several services.

Southeastern Trains tweeted that several trains would be delayed due to an 'incident', and asked people to use the fire exit to come in and out of the station while the main entrance was closed.

The station was fully reopened at about 9.40pm.

British Transport Police is looking for witnesses to the fight.
