Traffic on M25 anti-clockwise near Dartford at a standstill after accident

Traffic on the M25 anti-clockwise was brought to a standstill following an accident this evening.

The crash, which involved four cars, happened near Junction 1B, the A296 Princes Road slip near Dartford.

All traffic was temporarily held, but the road reopened at about 5pm. It took a further two hours for conditions to return to normal.

At one point, there were four-mile tailbacks, to just after junction 3 for the Swanley Interchange.

Emergency services were called to the scene, but fortunately, there were no serious injuries.
