Police have released an e-fit of a man they are hunting in connection with two robberies in Canterbury last month.

The first robbery took place between 8.50pm and 9pm on September 6 in the alleyway which links Lansdown Road and the car park at Station Road East.

Two men approached a 23-year-old Dover man and punched and kicked him before stealing his Blackberry phone, wallet and passport.

The second robbery took place in Ethelbert Road close to its junction with Old Dover Road at just before 9.30pm.

A 51-year-old man from Herne Bay was attacked and had a black bag stolen.

The victim needed hospital treatment after the robbery.

Police believe the same two men are responsible for both incidents.

Det Con Dave Wells from East Kent’s area major enquiry team said: “This e-fit is of a man seen running from the scene of the robbery in Ethelbert Road and we are very keen to hear from anyone who recognises him.”

Both offenders are described as in their early 20s. One had a pale green or grey hooded top and grey tracksuit bottoms while the other was in a dark grey hooded top and grey tracksuit bottoms.
