It was reported “kids” had been throwing stones, with one of the missiles smashing a bus window.

Stagecoach said routes between Canterbury and Chilham were stopped while a replacement bus was sought.

A spokesperson said no one onboard was injured.

They added: "Targeting any vehicle in this way is incredibly dangerous and we urge anyone with any information who saw young people in the area throwing stones to contact the police."

A spokesperson for the police added that officers received a report of criminal damage to a bus in Canterbury yesterday at 11:30am.
