A SHOP supervisor had a knife held to his face by a masked robber. The supervisor was manhandled into the canteen of the Co-op store in Faversham Road, Kennington, Ashford, and held to the floor.

A female cleaner who was already in the canteen was also kept in the room by the man, who police have described as very aggressive. The raid took place between 6.35am and 6.45am yesterday.

A second robber, who was wielding a spanner, went in to the office and emptied the safe, which contained a large amount of cash.

The money was loaded in to a dark blue holdall and the two men fled. The police were called minutes later and the area around Tudor Road, and Greenbank was taped off.

Scene of crime officers spent much of the morning searching the shop for forensic evidence. The first male is described at white, aged in his early 20s, 5ft 7ins tall and of slim build.

He was wearing a mask with eye and mouth holes, dark coloured clothing, gloves and had a black-handled knife with a four to five inch blade. The man spoke with no obvious accent, but his voice is described as a mixture of an adult's and a boy’s.

The second man is also white and slim, but shorter and younger than the other attacker.

He wore a dark, hood jacket, dark trousers, which could have been jeans, and was wearing a mask similar to that of the first man. His spanner was eight to 10ins long, silver and open ended.
