Ashford Town are still not safe after being on the end of a 6-2 drubbing at Ryman League Division 1 South promotion-chasing Fleet Town on Saturday.

Laurence Harvey gave the visitors the lead against the run of play with a close range header on 12 minutes but the hosts were 3-1 ahead by the break.

It was four within four minutes of the restart but Mark Lovell (pictured)reduced the deficit from close range two minutes later, only for the hosts to grab two more before the end.

Despite the defeat - Town's third in a row - they need just two points from their final two games to avoid the drop.

Folkestone kept their slim title chances alive with a 2-1 win at Ramsgate at Southwood on Saturday.

The Rams took the lead when Rhys Lawson's cross was deflected past his own goalkeeper by Invicta defender Frankie Chappell on 28 minutes.

Folkestone equalised in added time at the end of of the first half through Simon Austin and a Josh Vincent strike three minutes from time earned Invicta the points.

The victory kept Invicta within four points of leaders Croydon, but Neil Cugley's side must win both their remaining games - one of which is against Croydon on Tuesday - to stand any chance of overhauling Athletic, who boast a far superior goal difference.
