A man has been sentenced to more than six years in prison for his part in cash machine thefts involving stolen JCBs.

Tony Clive Hart, 22, of Bryony Drive, Kingsnorth pleaded guilty to two offences - at the NatWest in Larkfield and Tesco superstore in Rainham in 2008.

He was sentenced alongside Jon Leonard Cloke, 23, of Gravesend who was sentenced to more than five years after pleading guilty to ther above offences and conspiracy to burgle Asda in Greenhithe.

Presiding judge St John-Stevens said upon sentencing the pair that they “were part of an organised group that targeted ATMs and their contents.”

Det Insp Tom Richards of Kent Policve’s serious and organised crime unit said: “These two men are the latest thing in a string of offences who have been brought to justice thanks to the tireless and diligent work of the unit.”
